Rebecca has been recording the world around her in art since she could first hold a crayon. She was blessed with supportive parents who believed in developing her talents, and enrolled her in art classes from a young age. She attended Utah State University on an art scholarship but switched majors after the first year to a degree that would be "more marketable." But while studying in another field, she earned money illustrating text books for professors, and designing tee shirts for the recreation department. She drifted away from art for several years and was blessed to meet up with her former high school art teacher 'Pete' (Harold Petersen) at the Petersen Art Center and he started her back on the road to art and watercolor and she hasn't stopped since. Despite earning a PhD in that 'marketable' field, Rebecca has always found peace, comfort, and joy in creating art and preserving memories in art. So much so that she left that marketable field to teach art and music (she is also a musician and piano teacher). She loves painting people, especially the eyes, and trying out new techniques. She is a "copy machine" in that she can paint anything she can see.
Eric met Rebecca at Indiana University, where she was studying for her PhD, and he was working on a degree in English. He charmed her with his great smile, quick wit, and creativity and the two have been inseparable ever since. Eric is a talented writer of fantasy novels and beautiful poetry, part-time dungeon master and RPG player, bass player, and an artistic creative genius. Rebecca credits his great "tagging" artistic ability to his years 'hangin' on the California streets as a teen, and his years in the D&D world for his fantastic imagination. In the realm of 'name art' and fantasy art, he is the creative genius and she is the one who brings his creative ideas to life. He left his 'corporate' job of 12 years for an artistic life with his wife Rebecca, and their 4 wonderfully artistic and musical children.
They are both happy that you've found your way to their webpage, and look forward to working with you to put your memories and loved ones on canvas. They believe that memories should be on display for all to see, not in an album on a shelf, or worse, a box under a bed collecting dust. Having artwork on your wall that reflects people, places, and things you love makes them a focal point and gives you the opportunity to show and tell. Please contact us and tell us a little bit about your project.
